Samana Care™ is named for the samán (Samanea saman), also known as the rain tree or monkey pod tree. It's known for one thing above all else: an enormous, wide-reaching canopy, often far broader than the tree is tall, that shelters everything beneath it. Where a samán grows, entire gatherings can sit in its shade at once.
Rain doesn't fall on its leaves so much as it does its work underneath. It soaks into the soil, feeds the roots, and from the roots it travels up through the trunk and out to every branch. Nothing above ground grows without what's happening, unseen, below it.
Colette has described her own thinking this way: most of this industry looks at the tree, the senior is the trunk, the part everyone can see, and the branches are the ecosystem that grows from it: the care facilities, the insurers, the pharma companies. We think about it differently. We start with the root system: the caregivers, family and professional, that everything above ground actually depends on. If the roots aren't cared for, the rest of the tree eventually feels it too, seniors included.

Samana Care™ is the canopy over all of it, the layer that brings water back to the roots, so everything above them can grow.
Most attention goes to what's visible: the senior, the facilities, the technology built around them. We think the real leverage is underground. Support the caregiver, and the whole tree grows. Leave the roots unsupported, and seniors won't have care to depend on at all. That's the difference: we're not asking anyone to give up the apps and tools they already use, we're the canopy that brings the whole care community together around them, so nothing above ground has to grow alone.
This isn't a metaphor for one relationship, it's an invitation to the whole community around a senior's care: family caregivers and professional caregivers, nurses, doctors, and first responders, alongside the hospital systems, facilities, insurers, and pharma partners already caring for the people we love. The need for that kind of coordination isn't temporary. As our population ages, it will only grow. Samana Care™ exists to bring all of it, and all of them, together under one canopy.
